Prep volleyball

Pleasant Valley, Alexandria, Jacksonville and Ohatchee score victories in area play. Wellborn sweeps to 13th victory of the season. Munford splits.

PLEASANT VALLEY — With setter Maddie Schwabe back from an ankle injury and playing closer to full strength, Pleasant Valley is regaining stride.

Schwabe turned in 19 assists, and the Raiders beat Donoho 25-10, 25-11, 25-10 in a key Class 2A, Area 10 match at home Thursday. Pleasant Valley improved to 10-8 on the season.

Schwabe, who sustained an ankle sprain during warmups for a match in Geraldine’s tournament, also turned in three kills, two aces, three digs and two blocks Thursday.

“My setter returned fully tonight,” Pleasant Valley coach Dana Bryant said. “We are thankful to have her back!”

ALEXANDRIA: In Class 5A, Area 12 play, Alexandria swept Lincoln 25-15, 25-8, 25-4 to move to 22-3 on the season. Top performers for the Valley Cubs:

—Eryn Spradley: 15 kills, four digs, one block.
—Cassidy Hartsfield: six kills, one dig, two blocks.
—Kaiden Pritchett: three digs.
—Devan White: one assist, eight digs, three aces.
—Ava Johnson: three digs, three aces.
—Christian Hess: 15 assists, one dig, one ace.
—Sophie Martin: 14 assists.

JACKSONVILLE: The Golden Eagles swept a Class 4A, Area 10 match with White Plains, 25-16, 29-27, 25-23. Top performers for Jacksonville (10-15):

—Mya Swain: seven kills, five blocks, three digs.

OHATCHEE: The Indians beat Weaver 25-17, 25-17, 25-10 in Class 3A, Area 10 play. Top performers for Ohatchee (18-6):
