OHATCHEE – The top-ranked Donoho volleyball team remained undefeated with another big in-county victory, sweeping past Ohatchee on the Lady Indians’ Senior Night, 25-11, 25-14, 25-15.

The Lady Falcons, 10-0 and 4-0 against county opponents, were missing middle Estella Connell, but Mary Marshall Perry stepped up big, particularly defensively against Ohatchee middle Jorda Crook. Perry had five blocks and five kills.

“Her blocking was on point,” Donoho coach Jamie Clendenin said. “While she wasn’t a middle starting back this season, she looked as comfortable as she did last season.

“She did a phenomenal job of moving around to hit the ball by either pulling the block or separating herself to get the kill. I’m super proud of her flexibility and the ability to play any position that is asked of her.”

Maggie Wakefield had 11 kills, five blocks and seven digs. Lily Grace Draper had seven kills, five digs and four aces. Sam Wakefield had seven digs and 19 assists. Naira Rehman had nine digs and Ayesha Siddiqua had five aces.

“I gave them practice off (Wednesday) night and they definitely did not make me regret it,” Clendenin said. “They were super rejuvenated and ready for the competition. They were absolutely back to form.”
