Takya Garrett’s grand slam highlighted a 10-run fourth inning outburst that carried Oxford to a stunning 16-7 victory over Alexandria Thursday night.

The Lady Jackets sent 14 batters to the plate in their big inning, which erased a 6-4 deficit. Garrett’s slam gave Oxford a 9-6 lead. Before the inning was over, Justice Woods delivered a two-run single, Aametria Wilson an RBI single and Cohlee Boone a two-run single in consecutive at-bats.

Garrett went 3-for-4 with six RBIs. Wilson went 4-for-5, and Woods and Matti Sprawberry had three hits apiece. The Lady Jackets pounded 18 hits as a team.

Rylee Gattis and Addie Jennings both had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Cubs.

Pleasant Valley 2, Spring Garden 1: Madyson Cromer ripped a two-run double into centerfield with two outs in the first inning and Madison Borders made it stand in the circle. Borders allowed four hits and turned back threats in the sixth and seventh innings.

Taylor Nix and Leah Patterson both had two hits for PV.

White Plains 10, Munford 0: Callie Richardson went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Lily Ponder and Camden Wilson both had two hits and two RBIs, and Emma Howard pitched a five-inning three-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Richardson’s two-run single gave the Lady Wildcats a 2-0 first-inning lead.

Piedmont 11, Ohatchee 8: Reese Franklin and Z’Hayla Walker both drove in three runs to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Cayla Brothers had three hits while Jenna Calvert, Walker and Maddy Byers had two apiece.

Ella Whitehead and Kylee Barnes both had three hits for Ohatchee and Abbi Whitehead had three RBIs.
