Anniston scores big, getting three first-teamers and boys 4A Coach of the Year

It was another good year for basketball in Calhoun County and the all-state teams released Sunday morning reflected it.

The county had 20 players on the first, second, third and honorable mention teams and a coach of the year. There were six boys first-teamers and one girls first-teamer.

Anniston had the big haul. The state champion Bulldogs placed Antonio Kite and Final Four MVP Malcolm Carlisle on the first team, and Torry Brown was Coach of the Year. The Lady Dawgs placed Allasha Dudley on the girls first team.

The classification Players of the Year and Mr./Miss Basketball will be announced next week. Highly anticipating Kite and Dudley will be 4A Players of the Year.
