LEEDS –Oxford won a pair of games and White Plains lost two close ones in the Leeds Tournament Friday.

Oxford beat Leeds and St. Clair County by identical 7-2 scores. White Plains lost to Moody 6-5 and were blanked by Spain Park 2-0.

The Lady Jackets erased 2-0 deficits with three runs in the home first in both games and never looked back. Bailey Clark gave them the lead against Leeds with a three-run homer and drove the tying and go-ahead runs on a sacrifice fly against St. Clair County.

Chloe Derrick and Aametria Wilson both had a pair of hits in the St. Clair County game.

White Plains’ rally in the fourth inning came up just short against Moody. The Lady Wildcats trailed 6-2 entering the inning. Courtnee Masson hit a two-run triple and scored on an error to make it 6-5, but they couldn’t get another runner on base.

In the Spark Park game, Lily Ponder and Callyn Martin were the only White Plains hitters to reach base against Ella Reed in the four-inning game.
