Boys Games
Alexandria 78, Fort Payne 54: Landan Williams and Julian Wright scored 17 points apiece and Williams pulled down 14 rebounds for the Valley Cubs (3-1). Adam Young and Wright both scored seven in a 30-point third quarter that stretch Alexaandria’s lead.
JCA 80, Coosa Christian 41: Chase Vinson scored 34 points on hit 17-of-23 shooting from the floor and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Thunder (8-1, 2-0). Brady Shaddix had nine points, five rebounds and 13 assists.
Girls Games
Sacred Heart 60, Childersburg 48: Alisia Person and Miyah Harris both scored nine points in the third quarter as the Lady Cardinals took control against a Class 4A team that played in the Final Four a year ago. Person was a 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the quarter and finished with aa team-high 15 points.
Coosa Christian 68, JCA 39: India Brown had 20/20 vision. She scored 29 points and grabbed 24 rebounds for the Lady Conquestadors. Bella Millirons had 26 points.
