Faith Christian, Pleasant Valley wrap up regular seasons, set sights on area tournaments

WOODLAND –
Michael McGraw scored 15 points and nine players scored in total as Faith Christian wrapped up its regular season with 51-38 victory over Woodland.
 
It was the first coaching victory for assistant coach Chai Cowser, filling in for head coach Justin Kisor who was committed to an earlier engagement well before the game was rescheduled from Tuesday’s postponement.
 
The Lions used a 23-point second quarter to open a 16-point halftime lead and pulled away with three 3-pointers in a 22-point fourth quarter. McGraw had eight in the fourth quarter.

Hayden Lipscomb scored six of his game-high 15 points in the second quarter when the Eagles stretched a five-point lead to 19 at halftime. Donovan Greaves hit three 3-pointers and had 11 points. The Raiders scored 15 points in the first quarter, but were held to just five field goals and 15 points over the final three quarters.

Rylee Haynes came off the bench and scored 13 points in the second half to give the Lady Raiders their first victory over Hokes Bluff since 1998. Haynes was one of three PV players to score in double figures. Karmyn Sparks also had 13 and Chandler Dorsett had 11.
