Alexandria 49, Jacksonville 44: The Lady Cubs erupted for a 22-point second quarter to overcome an early deficit but needed to hold on to win. Sarah Pelham scored 10 of her points in the quarter and it lifted Alexandria to a 27-18 halftime lead, but it was a two-point game going into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Eagles went back on top 43-42, then Kayleigh Steen hit a 3-pointer to put Alexandria up for good. The Lady Cubs hit nine 3-pointers in the game, while Jacksonville went 0-for-17 from behind the arc. The Lady Golden Eagles also outrebounded Alexandria 58-27.

Kameron Simpson led a balanced Alexandria scoring attack with 13 points; she also had six assists. Sarah Pelham scored 10 points and Maggie Phillips grabbed nine rebounds. Jacksonville’s Kayla Broom led all scorers with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Brenna Stone had 12 rebounds.

Anniston 51, Sylacauga 9: The Lady Bulldogs’ defense seemed in midseason form. They were led by Toniah Foster’s 12 points and five rebounds, and Kiana Montgomery’s 11 points and seven rebounds.

Cleburne County 57, Donoho 45: Brooklyn McDaniel scored 15 points, hitting 11 of 16 from the foul line, to lead the Lady Tigers. Donoho’s Victoria O’Neill led all scorers with 18 points, hitting five 3-pointers.
