SOFTBALL
JACKSONVILLE –
Ava Boozer’s two-out, two-run double capped a four-run sixth-inning rally that lifted Pleasant Valley over Glencoe 7-6 in its softball area opener Tuesday.

The Lady Raiders trailed 6-1 after four innings. They cut the deficit to 6-3 on back-to-back homers by Mac Parris and Mikayla Kendrick in fifth, then batted around in the sixth to take the lead. Cortney Williams started that rally with a leadoff home run.

Boozer finished with three hits and two RBIs. Savannah Williams had two hits and two RBIs, while Lindsey Pritchett and Cortney Williams each had two hits.

Leah Patterson gave up one run in five innings of relief to get the win.

BASEBALL
White Plains 13, Ohatchee 3:
The Wildcats bounced back from a gut-wrenching loss in the Calhoun County Tournament with a big day at the plate in their next start.

Brendan Roper, Charlie Huey and Jaden Chatman each had two hits; Andrew Cronan, Andrew Norred and Matthew Clay each drove in two runs; and four pitchers combined to hold Ohatchee to two hits in the five-inning game.

Ragland 9, Heritage Christian 1: Brilley Phillips had three hits and Noah Hollingsworth threw a complete-game three-hitter with four strikeouts. Taylor Seawright, Evan Buckner and Josh Phillips all had two hits for the Purple Devils (7-1).

GOLF
BIRMINGHAM –
The White Plains girls golf team bounced back from a tough opening round to shoot 250 on the Oxmoor Valley Ridge Course and finish fifth Tuesday in the Hoover March Madness Tournament.

The Lady Wildcats shot 526 as a team in the two-day event. Baylie Webb and Hanna Dyar both shot 82 Tuesday and Lexee Cunningham shot 86. Hoover and Spain Park tied for first.
