RBs Woodruff, Chaffin among Alexandria players on Class 5A Region 7 all-region team

The postseason region honors reflect how powerful Alexandria’s running game was this year. Both of the Valley Cubs’ running backs – Keenan Woodruff and Grayson Chaffin – were among three that made the Class 5A Region 7 all-region offense as selected by the coaches.
The Valley Cubs placed six players on the all-region offense and defense and two others were honorable mentions.
In addition to Woodruff and Chaffin, offensive lineman Ethan Darnell, linebacker Sam Shaw, defensive back Josh Tucker and Fletcher Swindall (utility) were first-team picks. Braden Best and Skyler Payne were among the region’s honorable mention honorees.
Etowah junior lineman Alex Howard was named overall region Player of the Year. Etowah running back Cory Thomas was the Offensive MVP, Guntersville defensive lineman Logan Graham was the Defensive MVP and Etowah’s Drew Noles was Coach of the Year.
