Donoho, White Plains finish second and third to Hewitt-Trussville; Pinson Valley’s O’Toole (-5) medalist

By East Alabama Sports Today

OXFORD — Pinson Valley’s Caleb O’Toole shot two rounds under par and Hewitt Trussville placed three players among the top five individuals to take home the big prizes in the Oxford Invitational Tuesday at Cider Ridge Golf Club.

O’Toole posted a final-round 71 to go with his opening-round 68 and 71 and won medalist honors by 10 shots over Bob Jones’ Austin Russell and Hewitt-Trussville’s Noah Dennis.

The Huskies also placed Dylan Webb and Reed Love in the top five and shot 612 over the two days, finishing 13 shots ahead of Donoho. White Plains was a distant third.

Donoho posted three rounds in the 70s to shoot its lowest round of the season (306), which matched the Huskies for the low round of the day. Harrison Hughston had the Falcons’ low round of the day (74) and finished tied for 10th. Jacob LeCroy finished tied for eighth.
