White Plains’ area sweep of Cherokee County highlights Thursday night’s volleyball action involving Calhoun County teams; Thursday night’s football scores are also included here. White Plains 3, Cherokee County 0
Landry Bussey scored 10 kills and Ryleigh Randall had 28 assists as White Plains swept Cherokee County Thursday 25-21, 25-20, 25-12.
Bussey also had five digs and two aces for the Lady Wildcats (22-14, 3-2). Randall also recorded seven digs.
Destani Alvarado had eight kills and eight digs. Rian Chandler had six kills and seven digs. And Isabella Pinto kept the ball alive with 27 digs.
Jacksonville 3, Hokes Bluff 0
Recently crowned Calhoun County Tournament champion Jacksonville swept a best-of-5 by identical 25-16 scores to clinch its area title. The Lady Golden Eagles host White Plains Tuesday.

County Tournament runnerup Pleasant Valley is in action this weekend at the 28th Blalock Memorial at Homewood High School. The Lady Raiders are the only Calhoun County team in the field. The event starts Friday at 4:30 p.m.
