Alexandria, PV county’s only top 10 teams

The Alexandria baseball team and the Pleasant Valley softball team were the only Calhoun County teams in the top 10s of either statewide poll released Wednesday night.

The Valley Cubs (14-2) are ranked No. 4 in the Class 5A poll. Pleasant Valley (7-5) is ranked No. 9 in the Class 3A softball poll.

Piedmont (3A) was nominated for the Class 3A baseball poll, while Oxford (6A), Alexandria (5A) and Piedmont (3A) were nominated in their respective softball polls.
