Donoho VB wins pair

The Donoho volleyball team picked up two close victories over county opponents Tuesday night.

The Donoho volleyball team bounced back from a tough trip to Gulf Shores to pick up two tight victories over county opponents Tuesday night.
The Falcons defeated Pleasant Valley 25-22, 25-20 and outlasted Alexandria 25-27, 25-23, 15-11.
They fell behind Pleasant Valley a couple times in that match, but came back behind a balanced attack. Jordan Ray had six kills, an ace, four digs and two assists. Anna Marie Woodfin had 14 digs. Kayla Wallace had three aces and 10 digs. Hanna Christian had five kills and one block. Katie Brown had nine assists.
Ray and Brown had big games against Alexandria. Ray had six kills, an ace, 11 assists and eight digs. Brown had 11 assists, three aces and six digs. Madison Gaines had seven kills, an ace and a block. Christian had six kills and two blocks. Woodfin had 19 digs.
The Falcons return to action Thursday night against White Plains for Senior Night. They will recognize Christian, Ray and Madison Huckaby. Over the previous three seasons the trio has been part of two state championships and one runner-up finish.
