SENIOR FOUR-BALL: Ott Chandler and former Oxford resident Dusty Ellison will carry Calhoun County’s banner into the 20th State Senior Four Ball this weekend at Willow Point. They tee off at 9:10 a.m. Friday.

It will Chandler’s first state senior event since turning 50. His last start in a state event was the State Amateur at FarmLinks at age 48. It was the only time he played in the State Am and he made the cut.

“I think I’m going to be more competitive; I’m playing good, too,” Chandler said of his move to the senior circuit. “I really think we’re going to have a good shot at winning this thing if we get here and play good.

“There are a lot of good players in the state, but there are not a lot of senior players that are going to run over me. I think we’ll be right there with them come Sunday.”
