Third-seeded Jeremy McGatha secured the final spot in the Calhoun County Match Play Championship semifinals Wednesday when he defeated No. 11 Daniel Black 6 & 5.

McGatha shot 3-under through 13 holes. He opened a 7-up lead at the turn.

“I played good on the front,” McGatha said. “If I can play like that (again) I feel like I can have a good chance. I don’t know which one of my games is going to show up.”

McGatha will now face No. 10 Andrew Brooks in the Chris Banister Bracket final.

Top-seeded Gary Wigington will play No. 5 Jaylon Ellison in the Buddy Moore Bracket final. The match reportedly is scheduled for Tuesday at Cane Creek Golf Course.
