PLEASANT VALLEY — Pleasant Valley didn’t need extra motivation for its showdown of Class 2A, Region 6 unbeatens with Gaston on Friday, but a walk up the wrong sideline provided it.
Four-star Virginia Tech commit Braxton Salster broke two long touchdown runs, and Pleasant Valley kept Gaston three-star running back Zyien Dupree out of the end zone on the way to a 34-0 victory at home.
Fifth-ranked Pleasant Valley upped to 4-0, 2-0 headed into next week’s region showdown with unbeaten Wellborn at home.
Gaston dipped to 3-1, 1-1 and awaits an examination of Dupree, who left the action in the fourth quarter with an apparent shoulder injury.
