PLEASANT VALLEY — Host Pleasant Valley, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, finished as runner up to Class 3A No. 3 Ashville in the Sand Hunter Invitational on Saturday, going 4-1 on the day.
The Raiders beat Sardis 25-22, 20-25, 15-13; Class 1A No. 4 Spring Garden 25-18, 25-17; Piedmont 25-20, 25-15; and Jacksonville 25-16, 25-20.
Pleasant Valley fell to Ashville 25-13, 13-25, 10-15 in the championship match. The Raiders’ statistics for the day:

— Elise Wheeler: 94 assists, eight kills, 11 blocks, six aces, 26 digs.

DONOHO: The Falcons went 3-1 In the Sandy Hunter Invitational, beating Ashville 25-17, 23-25, 15-10; Ohatchee 25-22, 25-21 and Gadsden City 22-25, 25-13, 15-10. Donoho lost to Lincoln 22-25, 12-25.
