Covering Friday’s area high school football action from goal line to goal line:
ALEXANDRIA 51, COOSA CHRISTIAN 7: Cole Wheeler completed all nine of his passes for 215 yards, including a touchdown 41-yard touchdown pass to Royce Trantham, and the Valley Cubs rolled to a season-opening victory.
Wheeler also rushed for a touchdown, hit a 34-yard field goal and made all five of his extra points.
J.J. Beason rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and M.J. Morris rushed for two scores, Morris also caught four passes for 97 yards.
PLEASANT VALLEY 56, RAGLAND 14: Braxton Salster accounted for 202 total yards and five touchdowns as the Raiders improved to 2-0 with a victory over Pleasant Valley head coach Jonathan Nix’s previous employer.
Salster rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns and completed five of six passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns … 11 yards to Cooper Dougal plus 26 yards and 28 yards to Nix Acker.
Kaden Vick rushed for 75 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown run, and Grayson Hood ran six times for 50 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown run.
Jackson Acker and Zeb Curvin each had eight tackles, and Acker had a fumble recovery, tackle for loss and two pass breakups. Dougal had six tackles with two breakups.
WELLBORN 53, WOODLAND 13: The Panthers rushed for 413 and gained 527 total yards on the way to reaching 2-0 on the season.
Including a 53-0 victory over Weaver to start the season, Wellhorn has scored 106 points in two games.
Mareese Traylor led the Panthers with 201 yards on 10 runs with four touchdowns. Zane Smith added two touchdowns while rushing for 34 yards, and Thane Doland rushed for 15 yards with a touchdown.
Braden Thornton completed four of six passes for 114 yards.
Wellborn held Woodland to 203 Total yards.
CLEBURNE COUNTY 49, WEST POINT 7: Quarterback Jaylon Baker completed 10 of 12 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns, and the Tigers reached 2-0 for the first time since 2023.
Cade Shubert caught five passes for 185 yards and a touchdown, and Lyric Ware caught six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Koby Hale caught a 6-yard touchdown pass.
Cleburne County rushed for 239 yards. Aliah Ware rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, and Randal Brown rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
The Tigers held West Point to 75 total yards, negative one yard rushing.
DONOHO 28, DECATUR HERITAGE 7: Luke Farrell rushed for two touchdowns, and Donoho (1-1) ended a 12-game losing streak dating back to the 2024 playoffs.
His touchdown runs covered one and seven yards.
Noah McClendon ran a kickoff back 55 yards for a touchdown, and Daniel Storey returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown.
OHATCHEE 39, WEAVER 10: Gus Hunter accounted for 95 of Ohatchee’s 239 rushing yards with a touchdown, and the Indians improved to 1-1.
Jayden Siegler rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns, and Phoenix Tuiolosega added 64 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Carson Sanders hit on two passes for 42 yards, including a 26-yarder to Tuiolosega.
CENTRAL-CLAY 28, ELMORE COUNTY 14: Daylon Houston rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, and the Vols rebounded from a season-opening loss to Fyffe.
Jer’Darius Hall added 75 yards rushing, and Kamden Mullins rushed for a touchdown.
Jeremiah Lopez completed all five of his passes for 79 yards, including a touchdown pass to Hall.
Hall’s 63 receiving yards completed a night that saw him gain 138 total yards.
RANBURNE 12, WADLEY 7: Jack Yearwood rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Ranburne opened with a victory.
Aiden Whitman added 73 yards rushing and a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Sylas Thomas and Carter Driver had five tackles apiece,
