OXFORD — The takeaway from Oxford’s 31-21 victory over visiting Jacksonville on Friday was, well, takeaways.

Kamari English and Malik Smith each came up with two of Oxford’s five interceptions, and the Yellow Jackets upped to 2-0 headed into next week’s Class 5A, Region 6 opener at St. Clair County.

English also had a fumble recovery and returned one of his interceptions 60 yards for a touchdown to put Oxford up 17-7 just before halftime. 

Jiyez Fleming picked off a pass, as well.
