Editor’s note: Choices for East Alabama Sports Today players of the year in tennis factor in regular-season and postseason accomplishments.

GIRLS
Co-Players of the year
Avery Barnett (Donoho) and Claire Maniscalco (Oxford),

–Barnett and Maniscalco split two matches, with Barnett winning at the Red Wilder Invitational when Maniscalco forfeited with a foot injury.

–Barnett won No. 1 singles at the Muscle Shoals Trojan Classic, was sectional runner up and qualified for the Class 4A-5A state tournament, reaching the quarterfinals. She finished 19-5 in singles and 16-4 in doubles.

–Maniscalco won No. 1 singles at sectional and reached the 6A semifinals, finishing 16-2 in singles matches and 17-3 doubles. She was selected as an Alabama North All-Star.

BOYS
Player of the year
Rishi Reddy (Donoho).

–Reddy won the Red Wilder on the way to finishing 16-3 on the year. He finished third at sectional, behind players from Briarwood Christian and Altamont.

Coach of the year

Kristie Alderman (Donoho)
