White Plains’ girls runners up, qualify for state. Alexandria’s Stokes finishes third individually to qualify for state. Westbrook’s Robbins qualifies for state.

FLORENCE — Led by Maylee Steward’s second-place finish, White Plains’ girls finished second at the AHSAA Class 4A-5A North 2 substate tournament Monday at Blackberry Trail, and Alexandria’s Jasmine Stokes finished third.

White Plains qualified as a team for next week’s Class 4A-5A state tournament at Silver Lakes, and Stokes qualified individually.

The top two teams and top two individuals not playing for the top two teams qualify for state. West Point finished first in the team standings at 9-over 225, and White Plains shot 16-over 232.

West Point’s Brooklyn Sutter took medalist at 4-under-par 68. Stewart shot 2-under 70, and Stokes took third at 1-under 71.

Brooks won the 4A substate at 9-over 297, six strokes better than second-place Haleyville. Westbrook Christian finished third (09), Alexandria fourth (10) and Whit Plains svnth (26).

Westbrook’s Jackson Robbins finished second individually, shooting 1-under 71, one stroke back of Brooks’ Brodie Utley. Robbins qualified individually.

White Plains’ Cam McElroy shot 80, and Aubre Cobb shot 82.
