Ohatchee, Munford sweep to area titles. Jacksonville Christian, Spring Garden and Woodland advance in area tourneys.

OHATCHEE — Makayla Brackett pitched 2 1/2 innings of scoreless relief to get the win, and Ohatchee beat Glencoe 4-2 in Monday’s Class 3A, Area 12 final at Ohatchee.
Both teams qualified for next week’s East Central Regional at Albertville’s Sand Mountain Park.
Ohatchee’s Alanah Fitch went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI. Blaze Steward had a triple and a run. Gracie Reed and Annie Cox each had a single and an RBI.
Cox pitched the first 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and no walks with four strikeouts.
GLENCOE SPLITS: Glencoe qualified for the East Central Regional with a 4-1 victory over Piedmont before falling 4-2 to Ohatchee in the Class 3A, Area 12 final.
Kynsley Freeman pitched a complete game against Piedmont, allowing five hits with two strikeouts and a walk. She also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
Evelyn Nowak went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. AndeeMae Skinner went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Katy Talbot doubled and scored a run.
Piedmont’s Kaelyn Greene went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Class 4A, Area 8
MUNFORD TO WINS AREA: Munford beat Anniston 16-0 and Handley 17-2 and 15-4 to take the area title.
The Lions (32-11) and Handley clinched a spot in next week’s Central Regional at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park.
Brooklyn Pressley and A Wilson held Anniston to one hit apiece. Pressley pitched two of the game’s three innings, with three strikeouts.
Kastin Lathem went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Madison Arnold went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs.
Chloe Pickette had a single, two RBIs and a run.
In the first game against Handley, Pickette went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, five RBIs and two runs.
Pressley went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Lathem went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs.
Arnold went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, and Bayleigh Durham went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.
Pickett went 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs in the finals, and Ashtyn Bishop went 1-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs.
Arnold had a triple and two RBIs, and Addyson Britt went 2-for-2 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Lathem had a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Jena Gaither went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run.
HANDLEY ADVANCES: The Tigers beat Talladega 9-2 in the first round and 16-0 in the elimination-bracket final to reach the area finals and clinch a berth in the Central Regional at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park.
Brynnley Lane went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run in the first game with Talladega, and Rayna Smith went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, three RBIs and a run. Olivia Cobb went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Anna Kate Cole went 2-for-3.
Makenzie McCain and Ava Christopher combined to allow one hit. McCain had seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings, and Cristopher struck out four batters in 2 1/3 innings.
Breydan Watkins went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, five RBIs and three runs. Smith went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs.
Lane went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Claire Pike had a triple, two runs and an RBI. Mattie Cochran had a triple and a run, and Livia Bozeman doubled and scored a run,
Class 1A, Area 12
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN ROLLS: Addy Lee allowed no hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in three innings, and the Thunder (15-3) beat Coosa Christian 15-0 and will play Spring Garden in Tuesday’s winners’ bracket game.
Lee also went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.
Bryleigh Reid homered and had two RBIs, and Audrina Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs. Carli Chesson went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs.
Mollie Mullinax went 1-for-2 with a triple, two runs and an RBI.
SPRING GARDEN ADVANCES: Addie Word and K Bates homered, and Spring Garden (10-19) will play Jacksonville Christian in Tuesday’s winners’ bracket game.
Bates went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, and Word had two RBIs.
Kendall Birchfield pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Class 1A, Area 8
WOODLAND ADVANCES: Alexa Gay went 3-for-3 with three doubles, five RBIs and three runs, and Woodland (17-10-1) advanced to Tuesday’s winners’ bracket game against Fayetteville.
Allie Puckett homered with two RBIs and scored three runs, and Macie McDaniel went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and two RBIs.
Hadley Brown went 2-for-2 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI, and Alyssa Taylor went 2-for-2 with four runs and an RBI.
Madi Jo Womack went 1-for-1 with a double, three runs and two RBIs.
Puckett allowed one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks.
