JACKSONVILLE — Whitesburg Christian’s size and length proved too much for Westbrook Christian in Tuesday’s Northeast Regional Class 3A boys’ final.
Most valuable player Kaden Ragland Morris scored a game-high 17 points, and Whitesburg Christian rolled to a 58-31 victory in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Whitesburg Christian (26-5) advanced to the AHSAA state semifinals and will play South Regional champion Southside-Selma on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Birmingham’s Legacy Arena.
Westbrook Christian, making its seventh regional appearance, finished 22-10 with its third Elite Eight finish and first since 2015.
Whitesburg Christian also got 15 points from Reid Winton and 11 points with 12 rebounds from Tripp Mason.
All-tournament selection Titus Jones led Westbrook Christian with nine points. The Warriors shot 21.3 percent (10-for-47) from the field.
