JACKSONVILLE — Glencoe’s girls heard plenty of smack talk after the boys won the Northeast Regional a year ago. It’s the girls’ turn to talk now.

Kinlee Montgomery led the way with 21 points, and tournament most valuable player Katy Talbot gave 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets rallied from seven points down in the first half to beat Sylvania 57-48 in Tuesday’s Northeast Regional Class 3A final in Pete Mathews Coliseum.,

Glencoe advanced to the state semifinals and will play South Regional champion Mobile Christian on Tuesday at noon in Birmingham’s Legacy Arena.

Glencoe’s girls earned their second Northeast Regional title and first since 2009. They did it a year after Glencoe’s boys reached the Final Four for the first time since 2000.
