By East Alabama Sports Today
WEAVER — Weaver’s boys swept through the Class 1A-4A, Region 6 duals tournament Friday, beating Ohatchee 57-23 and Piedmont 56-23.
The Bearcats advanced to the first round of the state tournament and will wrestle West End-Walnut Grove on Friday at Ashville. The winner will battle the Alexandria-Ashville winner.
Friday’s regional marked the return of 157-pounder Gabriel Snyder, who missed Monday’s Calhoun County Tournament with an illness. He won both of his matches Friday.
