Pinto’s free throws lift Piedmont past Munford. Robertson, Anderson push Faith to victory. Thomas leads Piedmont girls past Douglas.

PIEDMONT — Rollie Pinto poured in 31 points, including the decisive free throws, and Piedmont’s boys edged Munford 64-62 at home Tuesday,

Pinto hit five 3-pointers but his decisive points came from 15 feet. After driving the lane and getting fouled, he hit two free throws with six seconds left to break a 62-62 tie.

The Bulldogs (7-4) also got 12 points from Taylon Swain and 10 from Nick Glover, who hit three 3-pointers.

Munford’s Marquell Johnson amassed 26 points, including two 3-pointers, and B.J. Anderson 14 points.

FAITH CHRISTIAN 84, CROSSVILLE 61: Parker Robertson and Colin Anderson have been Faith’s dynamic duo all season, and they matched each other Tuesday.

Both scored 29 points to lead the Lions to victory in the Supreme Courts Tournament at Guntersville High School. Anderson hit three 3-pointers, and Robertson hit two.

They got help from Ean Taft, who added 18 points.

Girls

PIEDMONT 51, DOUGALS 39: Amiyah Thomas scored 19 points, and Piedmont’s girls won in the Etowah Christmas Tournament.

Kenzie Prater hit two 3-pointers on the way to 10 points, and Sophie Clausen added eight points.

SPRINGVILLE 56, JACKSONVILLE 45: Springville’s Georgia Chancellor scored 17 of her 25 points in the decisive fourth quarter as the Tigers broke open a game tie 33-33 through three quarters.

She hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and five for the game.

Leah Bowden added 11 points, and Ava Vaughn added nine.

Jayci Taylor paced Jacksonville (14-3) with 16 points. Neveah Nicholson added 13 points and Ontarriah Braxton 12. 

PISGAH 62, ALEXANDRIA 56: Playing in the Supreme Courts Tournament at Guntersville High School, Alexandria got a 25-point performance from Charlee Parris.

LaNajia  Redwine and Kate Wheeler added nine points apiece, and Cali Hess scored eight.

Alli Romans paced Pisgah with 24 points.
