Could it be that Jax State has 20 wins against CUSA competition less than three full league seasons? Why, yes it can.

JACKSONVILLE — There come inflection points in Jax State’s young life as an FBS program, and the Gamecocks quietly reached another one in their victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday.

It wasn’t so much the bottom line of claiming sole possession of first place in Conference USA, though that kept Jax State on course to reach this inflection point this soon.

It wasn’t so much the AmFirst Stadium-record crowd of 24,166, though that’s a happy consequence of the kind of success that leads to playing important games in November.

It doesn’t jump off of any stats sheet, but comes from adding a few.
