Oxford boys get balance in victory over Fairfield. Wilson, Boyd lead Oxford girls past Smith Station.

PINSON — Jaylen Alexander led four Oxford players in double figures, and the Yellow Jackets downed Fairfield 56-46 on Saturday in the Pinson Valley Tipoff Classic.
Alexander hit two 3-pointers, and Oxford improved to 2-0.
Chris Latson hit three 3-pointers, all part of his 11-point third quarter, and added 14 points on the night. Marcus Perry Jr. hit two threes on the way to 12 points, and Caleb Wilson hit a three while scoring 10 points.
Oxford hit nine 3-pointers.
Girls
OXFORD 79, SMITH STATION 34: Playing at Handley, Oxford got 22 points from Bri Wilson and 21 from Takayvia Boyd.
Wilson hit four 3-pointers, and Boyd got all of her points inside the arc.
Mi’kynlei Mosleyn added 12 points.
