Falcons will count on ‘taste of winning’ to overcome key losses, hope to find way back into the playoffs after last year’s strong finish.
Editor’s note: This is the first installment of Talkin’ Football 2025. East Alabama Sports Today editor Joe Medley will do on-campus interviews at all football-playing schools in Calhoun County. The package will include a video interview, interesting facts and Joe’s take for EA+ subscribers. Today’s visit: the Donoho Falcons.
ANNISTON — Donoho will start its 2025 football season same place as last year … low expectations.
The Falcons hope to finish where they finished last year … in the playoffs after a four-game winning streak
Bill Smith’s first season was a success, coming off of Donoho’s 0-9 finish in 2023. Minus six key seniors from that team, he hopes to match that success.
“We got a taste of winning,” Smith said. “We have some newcomers. We have some returning starters, but just being a part of that four-game win streak and really improving throughout the year to where, week 9 and week 10, we were a formidable 1A football team.”
More details, a video interview and interesting facts about the Falcons are available for EA+ subscribers.
