WEAVER — Peyton Marvasty homered and drove in two runs, and Weaver beat visiting Piedmont 7-2 in Class 3A, Area 10 action Thursday.

Weaver made it five consecutive wins and improved to 12-6 after an 0-3 start.

Marvasty was one of three Weaver players with two RBIs. Alana Cooper had a single and two RBIs, and Kaelyn Free was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Ella Kines had a double and an RBI, and McKennah Homesley hit a double.

Kynlee Fulmer pitched a complete game, allowing six hits and two earned runs with five strikeouts.

Piedmont’s Ava Pope had a single, a run and an RBI, and Eliza Mathis had a single and RBI.

Savannah Smith pitched six innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs with a walk and 11 strikeouts.

PLEASANT VALLEY 17, GADSDEN CITY 2: Lily Henry homered, drove in two runs and scored three, and Aubrey Cromer went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs as Pleasant Valley improved to 14-13.

The Raiders marked senior night, honoring Gracee Ward, Madyson Cromer and Jordan Cheatwood. Ward went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, Cromer 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI and Cheatwood 1-for-1 with two runs and an RBI.

Haylie Lee went 2-for-2 with a run and two RBIs and pitched all but one out of the three-inning game, allowing one hit and striking out four batters for the win.

Cailey Almaroad was 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

ALEXANDRIA 10, CENTRAL-CLAY 3: Pressley Slaton hit a solo home run and got the win, pitching allowing no hits or runs and one walk with nine strikeouts in four innings as Alexandria improved to 25-9-1.

Cali Hess was 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run and three RBIs, and Kaden Pritchett had a single, three runs and three RBIs.

Charlee Parris had a single, two runs and one RBI, and Christian Hess had a single and an RBI.

Brenlee Sparks went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Central-Clay’s Athena Hughes hit a solo home run, and Ivy McCain had a single and two RBIs.

RANDOLPH COUNTY 10, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Autumn Taylor pitched a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts, and Brantlee Wortham went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs.

Gracie Huckeba was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, and Hannah Parmer was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Lizzie Milam was also 3-for-4.

HANDLEY 13, MUNFORD 5: Kai Brown went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and five RBIs, and Handley (19-5) made it six consecutive victories.

Ava Hill went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs, and Ella Hopper was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Tayi Goss was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Mariana Whaley got the win, allowing four hits and three earned runs with one strikeout in four innings. She also went 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Hill pitched innings, allowing no hits or runs with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Munford’s Brooklyn Pressley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Addyson Britt had a single and RBI, and the Lions got an RBI apiece from Raleigh Dew and Emma Gaither.

SPRING GARDEN 4-12, SAND ROCK 1-6: On a night when an umpire walked off of the field, spring Garden got a sweep to improve to 18-8.

The umpire incident occurred in the top of the fourth inning of the second game, after a call at seconds base and an interaction with Sand Rock coach Josh Bates. The teams finished the game with one umpire.

Avery Steward pitched a complete Game 1, striking out five batters and allowing seven hits in seven innings. She also went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Spring Garden’s Hannah Ingram had a triple, a run and an RBI, and the Panthers got an RBI apiece from Maggie Reedy, Maggie Jarrett and Lillian McCain.

In Game 2, Jarrett went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and five RBIs. McCain had a double and three RBIs, and Reedy was 2-for-4 with a double, one run and two RBIs. A Word had a double and an RBI, and Steward went 2-for-4 with two runs.

McCain pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and three earned runs with one strikeout.
