Spring roundup

Goad homers as Donoho snaps out of losing streak. Handley softball rolls up 20 runs, and Spring Garden downs Ragland.

SPRING GARDEN — Richard Goad homered and drove in three runs, and Donoho won 9-5 at Spring Garden on Monday to break a six-game losing streak.

The Falcons improved to 6-11.

Kai Cleckler had a double and two RBIs, and Peyton Webb hit two doubles with two runs and an RBI.

Marcus Lawler doubled and scored a run, and Sam Montgomery singles, scored a run and drove in a run.

Cash Worley got the win, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in six innings. He struck out two batters.

Lawler pitched an inning of relief with four strikeouts.

Softball

HANDLEY 20,TALLADEGA 2: Ava Hill hit two home runs and a double with six RBIs and three runs as Handley improved to 12-3.

Tayi Goss went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs. Kia Brown went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three runs and an RBI.

Mariana Whaley singled, scored a run and had three RBIs, and Ella Hopper singled, scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Brynnley Lane singled with two runs and two RBIs, and Rayna Smith went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Smith also got the win, pitching three innings with three strikeouts.

SPRING GARDEN 10, RAGLAND 0: Avery Steward pitched a five-hit shutout with three strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Olivia Law homered and drove in three runs, and Addie Word doubled with a run and an RBI.

Maggie Jarrett had a single and two RBIs, and the Panthers got a single and an RBI apiece from Layla Ingram and Rylie Ham. Helena Ingram went 2-for-4 with a run.
