PIEDMONT — Carson Young pitched a two-hitter, and Piedmont downed Saks 10-0 in Monday’s high school softball action.

Young struck out three batters and walked one. She also singled and drove in two runs.

Cacey Brothers led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs.

Jayee Glover went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Ava Pope went 2-for-4 with a double, and Cayla Brothers hit a single and had an RBI.

OHATCHEE 15, WELLBORN 5: Ohatchee’s Savannah Reaves went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and three RBIs, and Breanna Martin homered with two RBIs.

Tabi Davidson went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and an RBI.

Ellie Carden and R Steward each had a single and two RBIs.

For Wellborn, Jaylyn Chattin went 2-for-3 with a double, run and two RBIs.

ALEXANDRIA 8, CENTRAL-CLAY 3: The sisters Hess came up big for Alexandria on Monday. Christian and Cali Hess combined to go 4-for-8 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and five RBIs.

Briley Bright went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Brenlee Sparks had a single and RBI.=

Pressley Slaton went 2-for-4 and pitched a complete game, striking out 11 batters with no walks while allowing four hits and one earned run over seven innings.

CEDAR BLUFF 13, JCA 4: Carlie Chesson went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Addy Lee was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI to lead JCA.

Baseball

CLEBURNE COUNTY SWEEPS: The Tigers (7-0) went on a roadtrip Monday, beating Ranburne 13-6 and Woodland 21-0.

At Ranburne, Asher Brown went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Kannon Robertson went 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, and Hunter Gore had a double and RBI.

Nolen Wright pitched six innings, striking out nine batters while allowing six hits, four earned runs and four walks.

At Woodland, Robertson doubled twice, scored four runs and rolled up five RBIs, and Gabriel Wickersham had a triple and five RBIs. Jayson Deese went 2-for-3 with a double, run and three RBIs.

Nathan Adams had three hits and two RBIs, and Gore had two singles and two RBIs.

Deese and Brown combined to pitch a no-hitter over five innings. Deese worked four innings with nine strikeouts.

MUNFORD 6, B.B COMER 0: Austin Wynn, Brody WIlson and David Pettus combined to hold Comer to three hits, and Munford improved to 9-1.

Wynn got the win, working 5 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and one walk. He allowed three hits. He also went 2-for-2 with two doubles a run and RBI.

Jacob King went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI

Alex Petty had a double and RBI, and B.J. Anderson hit a triple and scored a run.

Soccer

JACKSONVILLE GIRLS 8, CHEROKEE COUNTY 1: Jacksonville’s Lexi Page, Emerson Weaver and Joeh Kim scored two goals apiece. Sarah Sloughfy had a goal and three assists, and Willa Kate Walker had a goal and one assist. 

Sophia Snyder had two assists, and Page and Kylie Terrell also added one assist each. Emma Easterling anchored the defense, with goalie Kelsie Sigler recording four saves.

FAITH CHRISTIAN BOYS 11, SAKS 1: Faith’s Brooks Burnham and Jack Strautman scored three goals apiece. Mason Blackstone and Joseph Carroll scored two goals apiece, and Colt Turley added one.
