JACKSONVILLE — Devin Barksdale hit two 3-pointers en route to a team-high 17 points,and Class 4A fourth-ranked Jacksonville beat No. 3 White Plains 50-38 on Friday at Jacksonville.

The Golden Eagles improved to 7-3, and White Plains is 10-4. The game was the Area 9 opener for both teams.

Jacksonville’s other top performers: 

—Jaquan Ervin: 12 points (one 3-pointer).
—Aaron Nixon: 10 points, six rebounds, four steals.
—Damonte Sinclair: seven points (one 3-pointer).
White Plains’ other top performers:

—CarterJohnson: 11 points.
—Paul Laube: nine points (one 3-pointer).
—Josh Wheeler: six points (two 3-pointers).

OXFORD 80, CALHOUN CITY 75: Jaylen Alexander poured in 27 points, and Oxford’s boys beat Calhoun City (Miss.) 80-75 in the Woodward Academy War Eagle Classic on Saturday.

Alexander hit one 3-pointer and six of eight free throws.

—Marcus Perry, Jr.: 26 points (five 3-pointers).
—Anthony Bush: 13 points.

PLEASANT VALLEY 42, RANBURNE 41: Hunter Sparks led Pleasant Valley with 14 points, and the Raiders improved to 4-4 overall, 1-0 in Class 2A, Area 8.
