GUNTERSVILLE — Oxford went 4-1 in the Supreme Courts Invitational, beating Columbia

25-15, 25-11, Westminster 25-11, 25-9, Danville 25-12, 21-25, 15-7 and Priceville 19-25, 25-22, 15-8.

The Yellow Jackets lost to Central Florence in the gold-bracket semifinals, 18-25, 22-25. Top performers for Oxford (37-13):

ALEXANDRIA: Playing in the Blalock Invitational at Homewood on Friday and Saturday, the Valley Cubs won two on Friday and lost two on Saturday, beating Hewitt-Trussville and Alabama Christian then falling to Mountain Brook and McGill-Toolen:

PLEASANT VALLEY: At Pell City, the Raiders won the Block Out Cancer Tournament, sweeping St. Clair County, Faith Chrisrian and Shelby County in pool play.

In gold-bracket play, Pleasant Valley beat Lincoln 25-8,25-16 and Ohatchee 25-14, 25-22 to reach the final then beat host Pell City 25-16, 27-25.

After going 11-0 over the past seven days, including winning the Calhoun County tournament, the Raiders are 31-12. Top performers:

CHEROKEE COUNTY: In the Warriors’ version of a Block Out Cancer tourney, they beat Brindlee Mountain 25-11, 25-21, White Plains 25-16, 25-22 and Westbrook Christian 15-25, 25-21, 15-9 in pool play.

They beat Jacksonville 25-21, 25-15 in the semifinals and Sand Rock 26-24, 24-26, 15-9 in the finals to improve to 30-16 on the season. Macy Lea reached 2,000 career assists along the way.
