Munford’s Frank, Alexandria’s Watson top field at Central-Clay Volunteer Spirit Classic. Lincoln wins boys’ team title, and Jacksonville girls lead the way.

LINEVILLE — Munford’s Dakota Frank and Alexandria’s JoJo Watson were the top individuals, and Lincoln’s boys and Jacksonville’s girls won team titles at Saturday’s Central-Clay Volunteer Spirit Classic.

Frank, the reigning Alabama Class 4A champion, backed up his victory in last week’s Waffle House-Yellow Jacket Invitational at Oxford by finishing in 15 minutes 56.8 seconds at Central-Clay. He beat Horseshoe Bend’s Loughton Spates 1:14.3.

Watson finished in 21:40.6, beating Jacksonville’s Emma Easterling by 10.3 seconds.

Led by third-place finisher Aaron Davis (17:20.0), Lincoln’s boys had five of the race’s top 10 finishers.

Jacksonville’s girls, the reigning Calhoun County champions, edged Alexandria by 18 points. Joining Easterling in the top 10 were Gracie Easterling (7th, 23:45.7) and Sarah Sloughfy (8th, 23:54.6).
