Thunder hits 50 again

Lee spreads the ball around for another strong performance, and Jacksonville Christian downs Meadowview 53-26 on the road

By East Alabama Sports Today

SELMA — No thunderstorm this week, but Jacksonville Christian brought the lightning and Thunder to Meadowview on Friday.

Noah Lee passed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, and the Thunder rolled 53-26 in eight-man Alabama Christian school ball, reaching 50-plus points for the second time in as many games this season, both on the road.

They won 54-18 at Trinity (Alabaster) on Aug. 11. A halftime thunderstorm forced a weather delay.

Lee completed 11 of 17 passes. Jesse Gannaway caught three passes for 16 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception for a score. Travis Barnhill caught four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 43 yards and another score.

Bryson Dowdey had three catches for 31 yards and returned an interception for a score, and Nick Brodeur rushed 42 yards for a touchdown.

Caleb Stallings rushes for 52 yards and a touchdown.

The Thunder will play its first home game next week, against Tuscaloosa Christian.
