WHITE PLAINS — Talladega College is slowly becoming Calhoun County south, when it comes to golf.

A week after Weaver’s Nick Ledbetter signed to play for Talladega College, White Plains’ Dalton Faulkner joined him, signing Wednesday to play there.

Faulkner will also team with former White Plains teammate Gage Miller.

“I’m excited to play another four years and to be with a couple of my buddies throughout that time,” Faulkner said. “I am really excited to see what it brings. I have heard really great things about Coach (Tim) King, and I can’t wait to be able to be coached by him.”

Their home course will be Oxford’s Cider Ridge, though Faulkner could feel at home just about anywhere, White Plains coach Chris Randall said.

“Dalton is the type of kid that is comfortable around everyone,” Randall said. “He draws people to him with his personality. It’s been an absolute pleasure to watch him grow up.

“He is a really fine golfer, but an even better young man. There are some great days ahead for him.”
