TALLAPOOSA, Ga. – Rockmart focused on stopping Piedmont on the inside, so it opened up the game outside and Ava Pope took advantage.

Pope hit three 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 50-36 victory and a third-place finish in the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational.

The Lady Bulldogs hit seven 3-pointers as a team. Jaycee Glover hit two and Gracie Naugher and Emily Farmer each hit one.

“She got going because they were denying inside,” Piedmont coach Terrace Ridley said of Pope.
