Brodie Dodson hit for the cycle, Andrew Folsom homered and Faith Christian pounded 20 hits as a team in a 21-11 slugfest with Coosa Christian Tuesday.

Dodson, the Lions’ leadoff man, went 4-for-4 with a walk and four RBIs. He singled in the first, doubled and tripled in a 10-run third and homered to left centerfield in the fourth. He’s the first player to hit for the cycle in coach Jason Pahman’s two seasons as the Lions’ coach.

“That’s a huge feat,” Pahman said. “He’s got a real good eye for the baseball and has been swinging the bat fairly well lately. He had a good day.”

A lot of players had good days for the Lions, 4-0 for the first time in recent memory. Everybody in their lineup had at least one hit, one run and one RBI. Catcher Brady Whitworth went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs and third baseman Alex Almanza went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Designated hitter Kevin Emerson, making his season debut, was among four Lions with two hits and four with two RBIs. His first hit of the game was his first hit since he was 8.

“It was a pleasure to see him out there having fun,” Pahman said.
