JACKSONVILLE –
Leah Patterson pitched a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and her teammates broke a scoreless tie with seven runs in the fourth inning on the way to picking up an area win over Weaver, 9-0.
 
Lily Henry and Ava Boozer both delivered two-run doubles in the Lady Raiders’ big inning. Rylee Haynes, Patterson and Taylor Nix singled home the other runs in the inning. 
 
Nix, Patterson, Boozer and Bailey Harris all had two hits for PV (5-4-1). Haynes, Henry and Boozer each had two RBIs.
 
“Leah pitched a gem tonight and we played solid defense behind her,” PV coach David Bryant said. “I’m just praying that we get to continue our season. It would be heartbreaking to see it canceled.”
 
Alexandria 5, Oxford 1: Lanie Dreyer pitched a complete-game three-hitter and drove in a pair of runs to help keep the Lady Cubs undefeated (5-0).
 
Dreyer drove in the Lady Cubs’ second run in a two-run first after Millie Burt singled home the first run of the game. She singled home an insurance run in the fourth. In the circle, she gave up an unearned run, walked none and struck out seven.
 
Ohatchee 14, Ragland 9: The meat of the Ohatchee order – Savannah Reaves, Kylee Barnes, Autumn Widgeon and Jorda Crook – were a combined 14-of-20 with 11 RBIs and nine runs scored. Winning pitcher Barnes and Widgeon were both 5-for-5. Crook homered.
 
Piedmont 18, Saks 3: Reese Franklin’s grand slam highlighted a 12-run third inning that broke the game open for the Lady Bulldogs. Jenna Calvert had a two-run double among her three RBIs in the inning. Sarah Farmer hit a two-run homer in the fourth for the final margin.
 
Faith Christian 14, Victory Christian 11: The Lady Lions scored three runs in the home sixth to break an 11-11 tie after Victory tied the game with seven in the top of the inning. Faith opened an 11-4 lead with 10 runs in the third. Elizabeth Bedford, Anna Kerri and Riley Doyle had RBI singles in the tie-breaking rally.
