White Plains may live by the 3-pointer on most nights, but it won by the foul line Friday night.
 
The Wildcats made nine straight free throws down the stretch and hung on to edge Fort Payne 73-72. Jacob Wheeler, who had six 3-pointers in his last outing, was 5-for-5 at the line during the critical stretch and Coleman Messer was 4-for-4.
 
By the way, they had eight 3-pointers, three by Quin Wilson – in the first half. Fort Payne hit 15 treys, including one at the buzzer to make it a one-point result.
 
Brody Baker led five White Plains scorers in double figures with 15. Jaden Chatman had 14, Wilson 13, Wheeler 12 and Walker O’Steen had 11. Jacob Hendricks and Kevin Hightower had 23 apiece for Fort Payne.

TALLADEGA – Jacksonville Christian placed four scorers in double figures and Chase Vinson picked up another double-double (16/13) as the Thunder improved to 5-0.
 
Kobe Messer and Eli Fair also scored 16 points each, while Nash Messer chipped in with 12. Brady Shaddix had six assists.
