Jocelyn Harris, Lily Ponder and Callyn Martin combined for 39 points and eight of the nine White Plains players who got in the game scored as the Lady Wildcats opened their new year with a 48-26 victory over Saks.

Harris led all scorers with 15 points, while Ponder had 14 and Martin 10.

The Lady Wildcats also jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first seven minutes of the game, with Ponder hitting two 3-pointers and seven points and Harris getting three buckets inside.

“Lily looked really good getting started early,” White Plains coach Chris Randall said. “Her shot selection was good and she handled the press very well. Her calmness against the press was really good for us, got us started. Once we got rolling everybody just kind of fell in line.

“That balance was huge. We’ve got to have that because we don’t have one jam-up offensive player. If we don’t have balance we’re going to be in trouble.”
