Cleburne County 47, Ranburne 37

HEFLIN – Freshman Haley Price made an immediate impression in the first couple games of her varsity career earlier this season, then cooled off as the year wore on. All it took to get back on track was a little pep talk.

Price gave the Lady Tigers a huge boost, scoring 19 points and hitting all five of her shots from the floor in the fourth quarter.

“She was on fire early in the season, but has struggled the last three games,” Lady Tigers coach Todd Gable said. “We had a talk at shoot-around today about confidence and having fun. She had both of those today.”

And the Lady Tigers needed it. They had one starter out with a concussion and another playing limited because of stomach virus. Olivia McDaniel and Brooklyn McDaniel – another freshman – gave also gave them 12 points apiece.

Price and Olivia McDaniel combined for 25 points in the second half after the Lady Tigers took a 16-11 halftime lead. Brooklyn McDaniel had a big hand in that early lead, scoring 10 points in the first half.
