Lions post shutout to remain undefeated in area play; 3 players score goals, 2 share the shutout

OXFORD – Three players scored goals and two keepers shared duties in the net as Faith Christian blanked Glencoe 3-0 in an area boys soccer match at Choccolocco Park.
Eighth-grader Daniel Blackstone, junior Beau Conley and seventh-grader Luke Williams scored goals for first-year coach Tim Mitchell’s Lions, who improved to 2-0 in their area and 2-3 overall.
Two keepers, senior Charles Conaway and junior Bailey Thomas, combined for the shutout.
The Lions’ other area victory was a come-from-behind 3-2 win in overtime over Sacred Heart.
