SYLACAUGA – After being held to two points and no field goals in the first half, Ashton Duncan came alive in the second and led Talladega to a 55-59 win over Childersburg in the semifinals of the Talladega County Tournament.

Duncan finished with 17 points and four assists. He had 10 points in the fourth quarter. Fred Dickerson and Jae-Lyn Russ both had eight points in the win.

The win sends the Tigers (17-7) to Saturday night’s championship game against either TCC or Sylacauga.

Clay Central 71, Cleburne County 46:
Ben Street scored all his points in the first half to help the Volunteers get off to a good start and then cruised to the championship.

GIRLS
Clay Central 35, Horseshoe Bend 32:
Ashley McNeil hit a 3-pointer as time expired to bring the Lady Vols a victory in the consolation game. It was her only field goal of the game. Ranburne beat foul-prone Cleburne County (15-5) in the championship game.
