FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — The Weaver wrestling team went 6-3 in two days on the mat and agreed to a fifth-place tie with Tallassee at the Beast of the Beach Tournament.

The teams agreed to share the position since they’ve wrestled each other several times this season already.

The Bearcats went 3-1 on Tuesday. They beat Fort Walton Beach (for the second day in a row) 42-27, Milton (Fla.) 65-6, and avenged an earlier loss to Auburn 42-36. The only loss of the day came to Niceville 42-39 after forfeiting four weight classes.

Cody Souder, Nick Souder and Kyle Clapper all went 9-0 in the tournament. Caleb Allison went 6-1.

“It was a solid performance at this tournament,” Weaver coach Andy Fulmer said.
