Vols stop Talladega in OT

Bullock hits eight 3-pointers, scores four of his game-high 31 in overtime, as Central-Clay County stuns Talladega

TALLADEGA – Joe Bullock hit eight 3-pointers among his 31 points and scored four points in overtime as Central of Clay County stunned Talladega 80-77 in the Class 5A Area 8 tournament Wednesday.
Davyn Flenord and Dustin Hardy combined for 30 points for the Volunteers. Flenord and Bullock both hit 3-pointers in overtime; the Vols had 12 as a team.
Fred Dickerson brought the Tigers (20-10) back from an 11-point halftime deficit with 18 of his 29 points in the third quarter. The game was tied at 68 at the end of regulation.
The Volunteers will play Sylacauga for the area title. Sylacauga beat Shelby County 80-54. The two finalists will cross with Area 7 finalists Central-Tuscaloosa and Helena.
