Weaver wrestlers win twice

Bearcats beat Ohatchee, Fultondale; in another local match Saks beat Alexandria, Piedmont

WEAVER — County champion Weaver won two wrestling matches Thursday, handling Ohatchee 51-15 and Fultondale 63-18.
In the headline matches in the Ohatchee dual, Weaver’s Kyle Clapper was bumped up to wrestle Hayden Pitts and came away with a 6-4 victory; and Reed Hill beat Cody Souder 6-0.
In the Fultondale match, the Bearcats bumped up once-beaten Nick Souder and he responded by beating Timothy Murphree, the reigning 1A-5A state 113 champion, 4-2.
In another match, Saks defeated Alexandria (45-36) and Piedmont (60-6).
