Prep football poll

Alexandria remains in the poll, but fell to No. 10 in Class 5A after shut out loss to Anniston

By East Alabama Sports Today

Alexandria remained in the top 10 in the statewide high school football poll this week after its shutout loss to Anniston last week, but barely.

The Valley Cubs grabbed the final spot in the Class 5A top 10, but only had a four-point lead over the first team also receiving votes. Anniston received a vote in the poll after the win that got it into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Saks and Piedmont remained in the 4A and 3A polls. Saks is No. 7 in 4A, one spot below Cleburne County. Piedmont is No. 4 in 3A, one spot ahead of Glencoe.
